Pond Opening Ceremony

On Tuesday 28th April we hosted our grand pond opening ceremony! The event was organised by the school values ambassadors who worked brilliantly to produce a range of excellent entertainment and decoration. The entertainment prepared by the children consisted of a whole school singalong of 'Blue Skies', a fabulous may pole dance to the tune of Pharell Williams' Happy, a poetry recital (including 'When Daddy Fell Into The Pond') and a rhythmic djembe drumming display capabably led by Ruby in Year 5! The windmills, bunting and animal fact cards made the whole area look amazing too! The mayor official opened the pond area and then all visitors were welcome to enjoy the pond - complete with tadpoles and fish! Every child also took home a delicious cup cake made especially for the occasion by  Freddie Willcox and decorated by Holly and Jamie - Thank you!

With thanks to the National Lottery Awards for All grant which enabled us to get the pond in designed and built.
